I want to put blocks on my rear end of my 69 F250. It has helper leafs on it already, 4 leafs separators then 4 more smaller leafs. So it already has tall U-bolts. Is it safe to run longer U-bolts, if so, are they expensive to have made?
Thanks
Aaron
Aaron,
my 71 has 7 leafs then a 4 leaf helper.... pretty stout rear end (for a 1/2 ton). I would try Autozone or some other parts store for longer bolts.... if not you could probably get a machine shop to fabricate a couple..... if you have a tap and die set and a torch, you could more than likely do it yourself..... but I would get a shope to make them as tempered steel can do strang stuff when you start heating it.......
