That Damn Interior

I have that light gray cloth interior which freakin stains like crazy. I have looked into Katzkin leather covers here locally for about $1200.00 installed. My buddy has the same truck but with the darker gray interior and has no problems. Does anyone have any input about these leather covers or know where i can get factory covers in the darker gray. it's an 04 Scab

I have the light tan cloth interior. Water will leave a stain! I too am looking into a Katzskin interior. I priced out a Katskinz stock leather interior for my screw at 800 bucks. What were you quoted for installation?

i was quoted 1200 bucks installed. This guy is pretty reputable here in our area and his shop has been around for at least 20 years. He said it would look great. The colors and the textures matched ith door panels perfect. Just wanting to know if this was an "in the ballpark" price

Galpin Ford here in California wanted $2,200 for the leather interior option. If you can get it for $1,200 I'd say thats good. Have you gone to the Katskinz web site and priced out the interior? That should tell you what you install guy is charging you. I'd like to know as I will eventually get leather installed in my 04 screw as I keep cleaning the upolstry and it still looks thrashed. I have 2 small kids who seem to leave a stain every time they get in the truck.

Smile Leather covers on ebay

Here's a link to a set on ebay. What do you all think about these? They came off a brand new truck from a custom shop. Let me know your opinions as I may get these and some of you might be interested. This seller has these quite often.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...4394QQtcZphoto

Did you need hog rings, etc to do the install? What about the quality of the product? Does it feel like it will last?

I am seriously thinking of adding leather to my XLT. I would have taken leather, but I didnt have to have it. People are really impressed when you have leather interior and dissapointed when you dont.

Katskin leather is great. You can also get it cheaper on leather.com and install
it yourself. That' s what I did with my 02 Ranger. I'm very satisfied-the quality of the leather is as good as or better than the leather in my 01 Lariet
super crew which used a better quality leather than the other F150's and Ford leather in general. Ford leather has improved some lately though.

wow!!!! i need to slow down when typing LOL

i am not sure if they are hog rings but they do use circle clips to hold it on then a plastic piece in front that snaps on to the frame.

I have Katzkin leather in my extended cab FX4. I really like it. The leather is thicker and more comfortable than the OEM leather and it will look better down the road compared to the OEM. I have had mine for two years and it does not show much wear at all. I paid between $1,100-$1,200 for mine.

The OEM seat covers do not use hog rings. I saw a TV show on spike where they installed Katskinz leather in an 04. You do have to cut the holes for the headrest posts and they fit tight. After I wached the show I decided I'd let someone else do it for me. I can rebuild an engine but I tried to put a head liner in a 65 Mustang once. I got it in but it took hours and drove me crazy. Interior work takes a touch I just don't have.

LOL WAS,

I'm the same way. mechanical...no problem. Electrical..i'll try it. Cloth, carpet, headliner..i'm a total spaz.

Anybody look into thos wet ocali (spelled right?) seat covers? they seem expensive and I'm not sure about the material they're made of. I may check a salvage yard for black leather captain's chairs to replace my gray cloth captain's chairs.

I recieved a swach book from Katskinz full of sample leather colors. I then contacted the installer recomended by Katskinz to see how much it would cost installed. Katskinz quoted the interior kit for my 04 screw at $770.02 tax and shiping included. The installed quoted $1500.00! I am not going to give the installer 729.98 to install the interior! I will look for an installer who is more resonable on price and void the warenty. Or attempt it myself which also voids the warrenty. I'll just have to do it when no one is around so they don't hear all the cussing.

Dude I Was Quoted 1200 Installed For My Stang. I Then Called Catskin And Since They Are Wholesale So I Had To Make Our Garage An Installation Facility Through Them. Got It For 450. Absolutely Ridiculous, And I Own A Garage And Know All About Mark-up. They Werent Too Bad To Do.
