I have a small pin hole leak somewhere in the radiator on my 99 350 with 170K miles....but not much leaks so i just fill it out every so often. Yesterday i filled it up, drove for about 20 miles and was in the engine looking at something else and notice all the coolant was almost gone, but didn't see any major leak. Filled it up again and haven't seen any changes since then.....could this be a thermostat going bad and it opened up to let most of it in? I did check the oil just to make sure it didn't go there. I do have the 203 thermostat on the way, but is there something else i need to check? Thanks
I just came across the same problem, almost exact miles. At the top of the upper radiator hose where it meets the engine, it seems to be leaking (Seems b/c all coolant in degas is gone and on floor, and truck is still too hot to refill). Is this where the thermostat is? And / or how hard is it to replace water pump?
I looked under and only could find a small drip....ran some copper stop leak through this weekend and still have the drip. Oh well, at least i was able to flush out the system.

Stop leak is your truck's worst enemy!!!
It will clog an otherwise good radiator, heater core, the abrasive particles will eat your waterpump seal. Seen it at work too many times.
guess i should have asked first....well i did flush the system quite a few times after i ran that stuff, so hopefully didn't mess anything up.....how else can i stop the leak?

The first order of business is to find out just exactly what is leaking. It could be as simple as the o-ring on the bottom radiator hose flange.
