Question 1986 6.9

I am looking at a 1986 6.9 F250 4x4 supercab and I was woundering if it is a good year and a reliable truck it only has 102000 miles and 3000 on new tranny would it be a good rig.

What did the current owner do with it? Is this an auto or manual? If just drive it then I would take it for a test drive and note anything unusual and get back with us. Do a very good walk around ,crawl all over it, pull dipstick, ask for maint records.

it was a work truck just drove it to work with his tools in the back

keep in mind the odometer rolls over at 99,999 miles.

it could have 102,000 miles, or 202,000 miles, or 302,000 miles...

you don't know for sure.

I have an 86 4x4 4speed extended cab, it has been a good reliable truck. The 10 yrs Ive owned it I have replaced the IP, injectors, water & air pumps, heator core, clutch master & slave cylinder, batteries, front end ball joints and a rocker arm.
