Thumbs up Some more thoughts & Prayers are in order

As of Friday of this week, I believe, our Moderator & my buddy & friend will be going in for a medical procedure that is called "Common" and it in fact is a common one.

Never the less it is still an invasive proceedure where you must trust your medical team completely. I can testify that's an uncomfortable concept and I didn't care how common what I had done may seem, it was not common to me. Unfortunately for me I was involved in a life critical deal and didn't have anybody knowing ahead of time what was going down with me. I made it tho'!

Regardless of my own hinkey attitude and natural uncertainties, I survived. That's when all those who cared about me filled my life & my hospital room too. . . That made a big difference in my case.

So I want my friend John to know, as he is going in, we are behind him, we care very much, and he will be in our thoughts & Prayers for the best of the best possible outcomes for him.

Besides, can y'all imagine where we might get going if John didn't step in and keep us straight from time to time here in the 61-66 Forum?

I know I will be thinking about him, and probably will bother him with a phone call later in the weekend just to let him know.

I thought I'd let y'all know what he was facing, before it's on him without our thoughts & support, and so he'd go in with our prayers for his speedy return here to FTE.

John Buddy, Buck up Bud, we're with ya Man!

Being a "new guy on the block" at FTE, I need you "more seasoned and wise" members to help me get through. Prayers always and good wishes for a speedy recovery as well. I will also look forward to some PRAISES when all is done, overwith and successful.

Thanks guys. Thankfully a lot has come along for clogged arteries over the years. We lost my dad's oldest brother when I was about 8-10 and him 15 years ago. This day has been on my mind for most of my life. The plan is to start with balloons but bypass is on the table as well. I am ready to be rid of the chest pains and shortness of breath.

My ol Ford truck runs better than a lot of new ones in an old body and I expect to also.

Yall have a big ol Ford truckin day.

John, if it takes a bypass, so be it. My mother had an emergency bypass done several years ago. She was back in action in a week. They really know how to these now, and it's generally not a big deal, if you can believe it.

John:
Make sure they put a filter in your fuel system.
Make sure it is not plastic, but the metal type. Perhaps swelling in the lines can be alleviated by replacing portions of the line.
I recommend a filter change every 5,000 miles, er, hours.
Be sure to follow your mechanic's - um doctor's - orders, to fully restore power!

I hope the best of luck and a fast recovery. I feel quite confident you will be ok and reving that engine of yours at higher rpms than you have seen for a while.
A bossman where I work had that done not too long ago, and he said he didnt realize how bad he felt till after this was done and he regained lost momentum. Sort of like rebuilding a carb that seems to run ok, afterwards they run like a dream.

on a side note:
I just had 4 of my spark plugs (wizdom teeth) cut out, ended up running out of oil on #4 (dry socket) hurt like crazy but not life threatning. only threatened the quality of life. lol..thats all good now. Seems like I can still tear through some food on 28 cyl just as good as I did with 32

I know my teeth were nothing compared to this though...
You will be just fine I Look forward to getting to know you better.

Scwid
