What size are the engine mount nut? I can't seem to find the correct size socket. It's a standard size right?
93 f-150 4x4 302.

Thanks
Mike

Most of the trucks by then were a mix of metric and standard. Also, who knows what a PO may have done. If a standard socket doesn't fit, try a metric one.

Thanks, I don't have sockets over 1" so I need to buy a socket. Just wondering if someone has just replaced a motor mount recently, and remembered the correct size.

Just replaced my oil pan last weekend on a 92 f150 4x4.

18mm deep socket did the trick for me.

Going Crazy

I rechecked my 20 year old, no name brand ASE sockets. It's got molded numbers from 6mm to 19mm but they skipped 18mm!!! For the last 20 years I never needed one until today. I thought I was going crazy, 17mm was to small and 19mm was to big, and then none of the standard sockets fit. Now I'm off to the pawn shop to pickup Craftmen socket, for 2 bucks.

Thanks Guys !!!

Yeah, 18mm is a really strange size but I've seen it a lot lately for some reason, mostly on chrysler vehicles but some Ford.

This was driving me ****ing nuts as well (pun fully intended!)

The 89 to 96 F150 Engine mount nuts are actually metric M12x1.75!
Theyre a specialty nut with a long collar on the base that sits in a 5/8 SAE washer.

Just get a grade 8.8 M12x1.75 nut and a thick 1/2 inner diameter SAE washer and you're good to go!
