According to my Rigid Hitch catalog, the same front hitch is used from 00-05 but it has a note saying that the factory OE driving lights have to be removed or relocated.
I have been lookin into front hitches also. They will all fit 00-05 excursions. If u go with a hidden hitch or drawtite that mounts behind the bumper u will have to take off or relocate ur factory foglights. There is also another option www.bodiak.net. This hitch attaches to ur front tow hooks. I bought one, but just received it and havent used it yet. Im only using it for bike storage when camping, so i like the idea i can take it off in the winter or whenever not in use.
