E-350 Superchip

My 2003 E-350 V-10 has soft shifts and requires way too much throttle pressure to downshift at low speeds.I'm having some trouble finding a scanner for my specific vehicle but did find a device online that hooks up to the transmission wiring harness and has 4 different shift settings.I'm intrigued by it because it's only $140 and might be the right call for me.I think my V-10 has plenty of power but it feels like it could be much better with a firmer shift pattern that also downshifts without having to put the pedal to the floor. If anyone has any opinions or experience with this type of product I'd appreciate any feedback.I don't remember the brand but will make sure to get it for any future posts.

Not sure if this is what you saw, JET Performance offers their Power Shift for the 1994-2005 E4OD, 4R70W, 4R100 transmissions. It offers stock, Stage 1, Stage 2 (more aggressive), Stage 3 (Race) tunes for the trans. It is $120.

That's certainly a viable option for me and the price is reasonable. As I said I think my transmission's shift pattern is what's making my truck feel doggy around town. The 6.8 V-10 has 305HP and 420lbs of torque and that should easily move my truck despite it's loaded weight of around 7,000lbs.I'm not looking to race my work van.I just feel this drivetrain should move this vehicle better.I noticed the Power Shift changes shift firmness by increasing the fluid pressure in the tranny. At a firm setting would the tranny also be inclined to downshift earlier without having to stand on the gas which is currently my biggest complaint with this vehicle. Thanks for the feedback.

Power Shift

One other thought I had regarding this PowerShift product from Jet.I thought it was just a plug and unplug kind of a device for easy removal if the truck needs any dealer service.I did find out it should be mounted under dash and it needs it's own power supply.ground, and splicing into wiring harness. This does concern me as I have almost 4 years left on my ext warranty. It's still tempting at $120 and I guess you would only disable it if you were having a transmission specific service issue.

I spoke with JET about your downshift question and they said there would be no change in how much you need to tromp on it to get it downshift. You'll still need to nail it.

Thanks for following up as I'll certainly need to weigh that into my decision.
