does any one have first hadn experiences with throttle body spacers? I hav a 302 in a 93' f150, the webiste says it adds 20 horsies and better fuel economy, is that right? any help is greatly appreciated :-)
Ford uses sequential Multi-port fuel injection, not like the GM vortec. Creating a "swirl effect" in the GM, hence the name vortec by the way, helps the laminar and boundry layer flow configuration and disperses the fuel/air mixture more evenly and some say creates a venturi effect causing a "forced air" condition. We had a Denali with the 350 in it and the Vortec injection. It ran well and had adequate power, sold it at 109,000 miles and bought an Escape. From 13.5 to 24 mpg. My F250 had a 56mm throttle body from BBK and it enhanced performance a bit. The shift kit in the E4od was the most noticable addition to the truck. Sold it at 285,000 miles. The throttle body adjusts the air intake quantity in a Ford, the fuel is delivered at the cylinder. Swirl is not gonna do you any good in this case. If anything it may actually contribute to turbulent flow charesterics which may be detremintal to performance depending on its' effect to flow in the intake runners.
