Anyone ever broke the vss off in the differential?
I'm not sure if I can drill it and pull it out with out pushing it through the other side. Or if I need to pull the cover and push it from the inside.
Any help would be truly appreciated.

Did you break the bolt or the plastic part in the housing?
Any thing left to grab ahold of?
if something is left to grab on to vise grips or pliers spray some pb balaster on it let it sit then tap on it gently and then twist it,you may get lucky! get all the dirt and rust away from the area also ,you don't want that falling in the hole

Did you break it off trying to get it out? How about drilling a hole and screwing in a screw and pull on that? I don't think it would fall into the case because the tone ring is directly under it.
I broke the tip off in the diff on my 2000 when it conked out. I got my cordless drill and used a 3" wood screw, screwed the screw into what was left of the sensor at an angle (so it wouldn't hit the tone ring and not grab the sensor enough), popped some vise grips on the screw, wiggled for a couple seconds, and out it came. Realy simple. I don't think you'd hurt anything in there even if you did nick it with a screw...
