diag help please
i have a 2000 ford expedition all stock with about 88k on it. the cat on the truck is making a knocking sound when the car is warmed up on light acceleration. knocking sound comming from cat = miss ? the car runs pretty smooth and feels pretty much normal.

I have the same problem on my 2000 and its really annoying. I have only found one other person on this forum that had the same problem with theirs. Now your number 2. If you look up the Full Text TSBs for a 2000 f-150, you will see a bulletin on knocking and pinging comming from the cat. They give you a solution to the problem, but i havent tried it yet. If you happen to give it a try let me know if it worth doing.

hrmm well the cat might be under warrenty but i dunno about whats causing it to do that u know. well anyhow this is whats going on now it runs rough for wahtever reason now. rough idle no power rough when cold and warm ... no codes so far still making that knocking sound from cat. hesitates sometimes too. newer stuff on the car are plugs......a few coils....EgR.. DPFE...cleaned the maf...checked the elbow on the back of the intake that is known for leaking.......i sprayed carb clean all over to check for vac leaks. new intake manifold gasket. thats all i can think of for now. anybody have any idea's ?!!?
