05' 6.0 comparison
Recently was impressed with the powerstroke vs. duramax. Towing equally about the same weight with the same mods (edge platinums, same exhaust) I averaged 10.8 MPG vs. 5.5 mpg. Trans temp at 205 max vs 250-overheat. Overall, I think the duramax made more power but the transmission couldn't hold it. Another friend is in the same situation with his duramax, continues to redline the trans after spending money on shift kits to try to help. GOOD JOB FORD! The edge is a big help just for the gauges, I don't know how many times I have pushed the EGT's above 1400 without it.
