Getting ready for the delivery of my new '06 E350 when the dealer called and said that the diesel tech had noticed a noise from the turbo and wanted to replace it.
Is this a problem with the 6.0? I need to upgrade to a van from my '97 F250, 7.3L, but I am starting to wonder if I am making the right move.

Supposed to take delivery on Wed, the 24th.
I would say he is a great mechanic if he could hear a problem and get them to fix it. My 06 has lack of power and I have been struggling to get them to fix it. It appears from reading that the Turbo is probably the problem , but they don't see it. They just say it is normal.
I wouldn't be worried about the new van. The turbo has been an issue for many model years...
Looking further into the turbo problem led me to find that there was an issue with the variable vanes and clearance in the turbo that was resolved with a redesigned housing with additional cleaance in the housing. I am impressed with the dealer and tech's resolving the problem before delivery[I][U]
