Has anyone replaced there stock Fuel pressure spring with the Gillett Diesel spring, Read a article that said it raised the fuel pressure from stock 60-80psi which usually comes out to be 65 psi, up to 90-110 psi which usually comes out to be about 95 psi. They claim the power is noticeable mostly at the bottom end and right off the line where fuel pressure is at it lowest, and smooths out idle. Seem not a lot to loss for $ 20.00. I also remember Cat_man said he shimmed his and got smoother idle.
I have a very small miss only at idle that was never noticeable before.
I run mine at about 65 psi. Stock was more like 50 for me. Someone here, ramsmoker maybe, is running theirs up at 95 psi and hasn't had a problem. He said the difference between 70 psi and 95 psi was incredible. Since my stock fuel bowl is gone, I was thinking of ramping up my fuel pressure to see what changes it makes.
You can also just put a small ball bearing into the stock spring & plunger assembly to raise the fuel pressure. However, if you do that, you have to put it down in the barrel that the spring slides into.
