Down on power!

I have an early '99 F350, CC. long bed, single wheel PSD. I loaded up my 28 foot car trailer, about 9000 pounds, and off I went. On the grades I normally drive on I rarely get out of overdrive but this trip I was constantly out of overdrive. In addition my boost was continuly around 16-18 PSI and my EGT's were a little high from what I remember. I had a tough time keeping up with my friends gas chebby dually and that is very odd for my PSD not to be able to keep up with a gas engine.

When I got home I opened up the hood and found a light mist of oil, dirt, etc around my rubber boots, all of them.

Could this be the problem?? HELP!!!!

That could just be the CCV. All the trucks do it, unless the CCV modification was done. Anyhow, it's normal and that's about all the damage that it does. As for loss of power and high EGT's we might need to know a little more about your set up for a diagnoses. Any modifications done....that sort of thing.

Sounds like you might have a boost leak. I would check every clamp

Bone stock PSD. I have done the CCV mod. Truck has 176,000 miles on it. I checked the clamps about a month or so ago as I did have this symptom on one of the boots, the boot that leads into the turbo.

Could the boost leaks be from some or all of the boots?

If you have done the CCV Mod, and you are still getting the residue around the boots you may have a whole different problem. Specifically turbocharger bearing/seal. If you remove the ducting to the compressor, can you move the compressor wheel at all. If it moves very slightly, that's normal. If it moves alot....time for a rebuild or a huge honkin' turbo.
