!!!Help ..TPS?. Battery? Oil Pump?.. Help!!!
Ok i have a 1990 f150 with a 302 and a 5 speed. 197xxx miles on this truck and the heads where replaced at 40xxx by ford. I also have a redtop battery in it also. The motor only smokes a lil bit at crank up but not any other time.
I just replaced the timing chain, and new timing cover, thermostat, belt,
The reason for fixing this all is that the timing cover seal to block came lose and i replaced it all.
and like 4 momths ago replaced the TPS ..
ok crank it up it runs good. then choke kicks out and it lowers to a idle. and the Oil guage starts to move back and forward kinda fast.. around the n and lower. and when you give it gas it goes back to normal.
When you cut The A/C on it dosnt kick up the RPMs. It sometime stalls it if its at idle
When driving it dosnt do it, but when you come to a stop light or stop and its idles it does it.. Oil gauges get real low and moves back and forward.
while messing with the timing a lil tonight the redtop battery died fast. but came back to life lol ( Gotta love them redtops )
the truck sat for a month before i fixed it and i listen to music some while i was out side. would the battery just be weak causing this low idle problem?.

oil pressure will drop as rpms drop, the engine isn't fluctuating with the gage is it? The computer controls an idle air control solenoid, and also how much fuel to give at idle. The computer is supposed to take into account air conditioning, or any load on the engine and give it more air+fuel to give the needed power to hold the idle speed constant. I would clean out the idle air solenoid and see if that helps.

I Got the code 33 ( EGR valve opening not detected.)
The engine idles low and dosnt speed up like it should to compensate for ac and what not.. This causing the oil pressure guage to drop b/c rpms get low..
Any more ideas what would cause that?.
Ima try to clean the throtle bodie tomarrow after work and see what happens
