Arrow Head Shave & CR Question

Anyone know how much you'll raise the compression ratio for each .010" you shave off a 300's head? I'm supposedly sitting at 8.4:1 stock, but want to bump it up to roughly 8.9:1 , which is just shy of the max CR recommended for my cam

Secondary question is how much you can shave off without having to go with shorter pushrods? Assuming I can go .020" or .030" before running out of adjustment room as the only other length available seems to be .060" shorter than stock.

As a general rule you have to remove about 15cc of compressed volume to gain one point in compression. If you were decking the block you would have to shave off about 0.070 to get one point. The chamber of the head doesn't have as much area as the bore, maybe about 2/3 the area, so you'd have to take off more for a given change. Maybe removing 0.100 from the head would gain a point, so half a point would require 0.050. These are just estimates, but should get you pointed in the right direction.
