Hi,
I just wondered whether there is a connector from the engine diagnostics connector to a laptop computer (serial, parallel or USB) plus diagnostics software for Windows on the market? If yes, is anyone using it?
Tom! There is no connector for Laptop! There is TEST connector to read codes, but you need no computer to read it! The connector is under the hood, near master cylinder. How to read? see: http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=13
and count CE light flashes!
To read data from sensors is possible using osciloscope ore VOM, see http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=2, but there is a special tool, that allow you to read all the data from sensors and actuators SnEEC-IV.

AutoTap http://www.autotap.com makes an awesome kit for OBD-II systems ('96 and up, they have a list) that gives engine readings in real time on a laptop, but (sigh) I don't think EEC-IV gives that kind of information.
too bad, I would have liked to have something better than just counting the check engine light flashes - something like Autotap has for the ODBII system.
When you aero was made, OBD-II was in project only, and more then 80% of European cars were with carburators! But EEC-IV is easy to test system and very reliable! Much more reliable then modern OBD-II with electronic throutle control systems!
EEC-IV gives this info with SnEEC-IV tool only. Have you seen OBD Data page on modern scanners? With SnEEC-IV you can see more! There is only one SnEEC-IV in our city, but I've heard, Bosch KTS gives you same opportunities with EEC-IV adapter. This adapters are popular in Europe, becouse EEC-IV and EEC-V are still used by Ford Europe.
