injectors leaking

when i got home today i noticed my truck was leaking quite a bit of diesel. after some inspection, i found out that all of my injectors are leaking. my mechanic is 30 miles away, so i was wondering if you think it will be harmful to drive it this far?

also my truck has been starting hard lately. i'll turn the ignition and the wait to start will instanly go off and the engine will turn over 7 or 8 times. after that first start in the morning the truck will fire right up for the rest of the day. do you think this is related to the leaky injectors?

thanks for the help.

Should not be a problem to drive it that distance.......

Where exactly is the fuel coming from:
A) the return line plastic cap...
B) the steel injection line to injector cap nut.

i'd have to go take another look. since it's dark outside, it'll have to wait until morning.

i'll have my mechanic take a look at it. he's a long time family freind and isn't going to rip me off or anyhting so i totally trust whatever he has to say. as long as i can drive 30 miles i'm good.

there was once a time when i was having a transmission problem, drove it 5 miles, and blew it up.

chances are I would guess it to be the return line caps, so it can be run, and you already have noticed the harder starting. Definitely get it taken care of as soon as you can though, if nothing more for the loss of fuel and harder starting.

i'll bet your right, the two 0-rings on the top of your injectors under the plastic cap they get hard and start leaking. easy fix. just lube 0-rings i use silocone spray then make sure you feel a little snap when you push on the cap

changed out all the o rings.

two of the injectors were gushing diesel fuel and a few others looked like they had been leaking for quite a while. problem is now fixed.
