Fuel Filter Change

2000 F250. I used the Napa Gold and the Lisle kit to remove it. When it was all done, I blew the fuel left in the filter into a plastic cup. I blew from the outlet side and got about 6 oz. out. It was a brown color but clear. I thought it was just sediment and it would settle so I let it sit over night. Next morning, no change the gas still looked hazy brown. My truck feels "happier", idle seems to be a little smoother with smoother accelleration, but no more power. I also cleaned my K&N FIPK filter. I realized that them last time I cleaned the filter I was in a hurry and didn't oil it. This is about 10,000 miles without oil.After reading all the negative stuff, I dissassebled and wiped everything clean. What was in the tube was very, very faint powderlike stuff. About what you see after a day or 2 in your home after dusting only really fine. It did not seem gritty or excessive and the throttle body seemed to be pretty clean. No goo on the MAF. I don't drive in extreme dust or sand conditions and I do have the Zoodad mod in the grill. For my uses, I feel the K&N is fine.

Good deal. I've noticed that around here almost every fuel distributor is having to go to a better filtering process. I guess folks like me complained so much about dirty fuel. However, the gasoline we have in this neck-o-da-woods is still nasty and I have to add injector cleaner every other oil change.

I don't think you have E10 where you are, do you Ron?

Seems like alcohol will cause some de-sludging but maybe at the wrong time. Isn't alcohol the main cleanser in FI cleaners? No E-fuels in Cali, but I have an S-10 that is a flex fuel motor.
