Just bought a '01 F250 SD with 140k mi. Having problems with a number of dash warning lights which caused me to drive with the parking brake on. Fixed that light by repairing the brake switch (per another thread, thanks)!
Here's the dash light status:
WORKING:
Low Fuel
(!)
Oil
Seat Belt
Air Bag
ABS
Engine
Door
BROKE:
4x4
Water in Fuel
Brakes
(key)
The broken lights don't come on at key start. When I fixed the e-brake switch I found it was oxidation that caused it to fail, and there appears to have been a windshield lead at some point (lots of light rust under the dash).
A recent dealer service states: "Replaced both dash and plate lights. Als repaired wire on plate light circuit."
The dealer notes indicate "dash light" fixed during recent prior service. Suggestions? Thanks!!!
