Dash panel overdrive switch

We have a 91 E350 diesel taht we use for delivering flowers. We are in a pretty hilly part of Kentucky and usually make a lot of use of the overdrive lockout button. I accidently hit the switch twice very quickly in succession. After that, the truck wouldn't go into overdrive until I shut it down. After restarting, it would go into overdrive but now it will not go out of overdrive with the dash panel switch. It will still down shift when we drop down to about 45mph but the button no longer has any effect. This creates a lot of pretty jerky movements in these hills. I am guessing I blew something electrical but so far can't find it. Did check under dash fuses - all OK.

Thanks for the reply. It may have worked but we took it into a trans shop. They changed the speed sensor and declred all fixed. Next day same thing. Wife took a look at the switch and saw that it was slightly jammed. Since found switch doesn't always make contact. If we keep fiddling with switch OD goes in and out like it should. Looks like a momentary contact switch (that works) is probably all that was required.
