wire help needed.

Looking for a little help for a 06 PSD F350.
To make a long story short I screwed up and figured it would be easy to buy new oem terminal ends for wires and therefore cut off the wire pigtail that plugs into the back of the cigar lighter in the dash. Turns out that it is pretty hard to find the oem terminal ends. I now have new ends but it took so long to find them that I can't remember which wire goes in which socket on the pigtail (another leason learned, ie: label the wires). The socket is a three prong socket with only two prongs/terminals used. I remember that the top/center prong is used and I think it was the left prong if looking at the socket from the wire side (back).
Could someone please let me know which prong locations are used on the socket by which color wire. Also, I would appreciate it if you could also let me know which wire was positive and which is negative. Not sure if a wiring diagram will show the location in the socket, might need to look at the actual part for that, it's easy to get to just need to remove the two screwing and remove the panel that has the garbage bag hanging hook on it.

thanks for the help,

I have an '04, but it should be the same. This is the best I could do. I would've checked the wires for +/-, but as luck would have it, the battery in my DMM is dead. I'm going to take an educated guess and say the black is - and the gr/wh +.

Thats perfect EnviroCon.
As it turns out I did remember which slots to use but I had the position reversed, so it's a good thing I didn't plug it in yet. I agree with your guess as far as the polarity goes as well, but to be sure I'll borrow my Dad's DMM and check them.
thanks again for the quick response.

Glad I could help. Checking with a meter to be sure is always the right move.
