Upper radiator hose

I've seen posters talk about replacing the upper radiator hose with one that doesn't go inside the serpentine belt. Where can I get this hose?

Most parts stores should be able to get it for you. It is for a dual alternator 7.3. Mostly used on ambulances.

Just go down to any car quest, auto-zone, etc. and tell them you have dual alternators.

I had a tough time finding one here in Cowhampshire. Well worth the install when it's time to change the belt....bing...ban...boom...done in 5minutes.

My early 99 doesn't go through either. Sometime after that, Ford wanted to save 2 cents per hose and run it through... Wait. They saved 5 cents on the tie wrap to the casting. They saved 7 cents. The stockholders were ecstatic.

You can get it from Ford too. About the same price either way. Anyways, the benifit is that when you change the serpentine belt, it can be done at a time of YOUR choosing. Rather than when you are on the road and notice that the belt is cracked and need to change it and thus having coolant all over the place.
