Hinge Pin Update
Sorry it didn't work out for you. If you are very careful on lining things up you might stand a chance on drilling the pins out
Since your last discussion of this I have been driving my truck. I have a peep mirror that clamps to the edge of the door. I can see why you would want something else. they leave alot to be desired.

I've been playing with a product called Evapo-Rust, a non-toxic enviro safe rust eater.
So far I'm at the point of amaziment at what it does.
Rust goes away, gone, zap, nada. I even used it on some fenders that I had sanded (Paint) down to bare metal, I was about 5 minutes from getting rained on so there was noway to primer. I took a shop rag soaked it with this evapo-rust, wiped the bare metal down and put the tools away. The car sat outside for two days, bare fenders exposed, one nights rain, anothe night with frost. When I got back to the the car there was not a trace of rust, no damage to the surronding paint. I wiped it down with thinnger, primed the fenders with etching primer, and painted them. Not problem one.
No for the more than brilliant Idea, Get some modeling clay, form a cup aroung the top of the hindge so that the liquid can soak into the hindge pin, fill with evapo-rust and cap the cup with another piece of clay to prevent evaporation. Wait a day or so and (hopefully) remove the pin.
Evapo-Rust is available at Auto Zone. I have no financial interest in either Auto Zone or Evapo-Rust. The stuff just eats rust.
