A.I.R. Necessary?
I am swapping a 5.8L EFI from an 1989 ford into my 1989 bronco that has a 5.0L EFI. The 5.8L had the A.I.R. tubes going into the exhaust. When I rebuilt the engine I put a set of headers on the engine that don't have the ports for this A.I.R. system. The header does have a port to go to the EGR valve. The pipe that I have is to short since I upgraded the intake to the Edelbrock performer intake. So I have a few questions. 1. Do I need to have the headers with the A.I.R. ports or can I do away with it? 2. I need to figure out how the emission hoses are to be hooked up. Does anyone have a good diagram as to how the emissions hoses and intake hoses are to be connected? 3. The A.I.R pump on the 5.0L is a little different than the pump on the 5.8L. Which one should I use?
