Timing was set according to the valve cover sticker. It corresponded to the calibration code found on a tag attached to ignition coil. You may have to fudge the timing to get it right, but I think 10 degrees BTDC is a good starting point for that engine.
Yeah. If gutless, advance a couple degrees and drive. If you get ping, back off a little. You don't want any ping when you accelerate. Heavy loads may make that advance setting worse.
Advancing is to turn distributor body clockwise, in case you were wondering.
thanks, see i think the vacume leak is screwing with me, cause its changing the vacume advance so its changing my mixture. thus screwing me up, i have a sniffer so im getting it all ready b4 i take it to a smog station, its CO levels are the ones im having problems with.
