Carb Question

How can you tell what brand/style/type a carb is? The one currently on my truck is a two-barrel, it has a choak on the left, throttle on the right and there is a stamp on the throttle side that has a "114" in the middle.

Any clues or is there another way to tell???

Added pics to my gallery...

Next question: Should I replace it? I'm going to clean up the whole engine compartment up, rebuild the engine and make her look really pretty, but I'm wondering what intake manifold/carb combo would be best for looks and function. I'm not completely conserned with getting the best mpg out of it, but I'm also not looking to throw cash out the window...

Suggestions?

Motor is a 390

sounds like a motorcraft, i would do a good rebuild and clean the carb inside and out(let the body soak). this is a good reliable dead simple carb, is your motor stock or near stock?

I'm guessing it was swapped out before I bought it. I know the tranny was swapped (no longer a column shifter, now on the floor). I'm not worried about staying stock, I just want to make it run nice and look even better!
