Help with Engine Swap

Hey everyone newbie here. I just have a small question. I have a 73 F100 with a 400m in it. The motor has seen better days, I have found a 84' F150 truck with a 302 in it and i was wondering what all i need to do to make this 302 work in my truck I'm wanting the motor and trans that's in the 84'. Please let me know if there is going to be any problems with this swap. Thanks

May I be the first to welcome you to the site

The 400 (No M) uses completely different ....everything compared to the 302.

You are best off with having a donor truck of the same years.

What transmission is hooked up to the 302 ?

I'm not sure what kind of transmission is in the 84' F150 I'm just wondering if i'll need to make new motor mounts or if i can use the same ones that was in the 84' F150, Also if i'll have to replace my drive shaft with one with a carrier bearing. That kind of info if u can. Thanks again.

You can use the 84 motor mounts and the 73 frame towers just fine - hopefully the 73 will have the correct frame towers since that 400 is not an original engine in a 73.
