I bought a travel trailer last week and I am going to go get it memorial weekend. I ordered a trailer brake controler to install on my superduty and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a seperate wiring harness under the dash to plug in to the controller or will I just have to wire it in? My truck is a 99 f-250 powersatroke crew cab with the tow package. I don't get the controler until monday which means I will have to install it after work so I was trying to figure this out ahead. Thanks in advance for your input. Mike b.
Look up under the dash and there will be a gray or brown plug under the dash by the ashtry. you can get the other end from ford a trailer supply place.
Yep, that little harness you plug into is fairly well hidden. With the fuse panel door off, you can look up towards the middle of the vehicle. There will be a hole in one of the dash supports, and the harness will be clipped to the back side of that. A few minutes of diggin and you should be able to find it. If not, post back up, and I will find a pic for you.
