transmision filter HELP!

transmision filter HELP!
i just changed out the one in the pan, so i pulled out the old one and slid in the new one and put the pan back up BUT today i looked at the old one and the little orange rubber seal IS NOT on it. the new one went in with one but the old one didnt come out with one. is it stuck in there?? and if so, do i need to get it out asap, or will it not matter and be fine until i change it again??

I really can't say for sure but if I were you I would suck it up and go back in. Now with that said your changing a filter that doesn't have to be changed. It actually catches the big parts if you toast a transmission, so as long as you change your in-line filter that is all you really need to service. Just my opinion.
