I have a 1994 Ford explorer XLT V6 4.0 auto that will not start,or starts once and awhile after I have done these repairs.
New fuel pump
New battery,and new battery wiring
New spark plugs,and wiring plugs
Power distrabution box was removed, and wires re-sodered.
I have allready spent alot of money via machanic, and the same problem still lives. The truck will only start when it wants to.I turn the key,and the truck fires up normal, but will not start up.Can anyone offer any help?
When you turn the key to the ON position, do you hear the fuel pump prime for a second or two? If not, then it's a fuel delivery problem. Maybe fuel pump relay. If you do hear it prime, then check for spark. Also, have you pulled the codes and if so do they reveal anything?
I know nothing about mechanics,so im just relaying what my mechanic has told me,and what he has done to the truck so far.I just went outside, and tried to start it up,but I did not hear any fuel pump prime.
Is the fuel pump relay part of the fuel pump?or is it something seperate? Thanks alot for you assistance.
