Compatible Flywheels for 6.9 engine
I plan to swap a 6.9L from an truck equipped with an automatic transmission to my F350 (presently equipped with a 460 gasoline engine and 4 speed manual transmission). I will need (I assume) to replace the flywheel. Are there other engines which may have a flywheel which will work? I understand that the 6.9 was originally developed by International. Are there other possible engines that might have flywheels I can use?

The tranny in the 460 won't bolt up to the 6.9l Diesel motor. Need more info on the existing 4 speed tranny to see if it could be adapted to the 6.9l diesel with a new bell housing.
You will need the flywheel, clutch, etc.. off a 6.9l or 7.3l diesel, none of the gasser stuff will fit.
