the black wiring harness on the rt fender of my 91 f350 7.3 is all brittle and looks as if there is some bad connection with a few of the wires. can that harness be cut off and direct wired? also can someone post the gp manual wiring diagram once again plz. thanks for the help
another thing is that when i put my engine back in and connected the harness together and turned key on it smoked alittle at the connection i unplugged it and tried again havent had a prob other than my gp light dont stay but about 3-5 sec. and turns off ( gp wrked fine before takin motor out)
Look for two big wires on one end of the connector, should be yellow in color.
That is the power feed for the glow plug relay, and probably the only wires you need to splice outside the connector.
Go down to your local hardware store and in the electrical section you need a copper split bolt connector that will hold 4 #8AWG wires. Cut the yellow wires off close to the plug on both sides, strip 3/4" of insulation off all 4 ends. Then insert two wires in one side of the split bolt and the other two from the other side between the first two. Tighten the bolt with a pair of wrenches and tape it good with a good tape like Scotch 33 or Scotch 88.
I forgot, do unhook both positive battery terminals before you start this project, those wires have battery voltage on them at all times.
