i had a kawasaki 350 twin that was maroon if memory serves it was a 1967? model. i too had a hodaka. originally it was a 90cc which i soon converted to a 100cc. wow! but it was a fun trail bike. i even ran a enduro with it in cloudcroft nm. we did real well. thanks for reminding me.
I always had Enduro Yamahas, while two of my friends had Hodakas, or Smoke-dakas as we called them. You couldn't ride behind them for the smoke. We used to kid them that all Hodakas came from the factory with extra spark plugs and a tow rope as standard equipment.
In 5000 miles of trail riding our Yamahas pulled the Smoke-dakas out many times, but the Yamahas were always ridden out. Just luck I guess, but the Smoke-dakas were always breaking something or quitting.
a ural troyska not bad for a price of $9.695.00 with a side car and covers. 2 year unlimited milage warrenty. should be picking it up on the 30th of this month.
Congrats on the purchase. What is the displacement on the little monster? A sharp looking horse, nonetheless.
I haven't been in touch with him in years, don't know if he still has it. When I last saw him he had a stable of BSAs, mostly thumpers like the 441 Victor but he had a Rocket Triple as well.
the beast is a copy of a 1941 bmw bike. displacement is 750 cc ,40 hp and 38 foot pounds. rated for 38 mpg plus . here is the one i really wanted but my other half would not go for it.
just looking at it and rideing the dealer demo with hardly any miles on it. only thing i disliked was that it shifts hard with a mild clunk just like many of the real old bikes. dealer stated it loosens up but openly said i don't know how long it takes . only bad part now is the wait till it gets here.
