Is there any way to test the effectiveness of the blower motor? I think mine is on the way out. It blows air on all settings but it's just not as strong as I remember it. Any sure fire way of telling or should I just replace it and see what happens?
Look at your wiring diagram,, it will tell you where the heater controls are grounded, most likely under the dash. Check that connection and check the connector where it plugs into the blower motor.
I went to Ford this past weekend as my blower was only working on high. I know you said yours was good there but, I just asked them for a switch and they then asked what the issue was so I told em'. The recommended I take the resistor which sits on the engine compartment side right by the blower motor. You'll see the plug. They said %99.9 of all issues with the blower motors were that part. It's just in a bad spot and get TONS of moisture. I went to pull the plug on mine and 4 of the five contacts stayed in the plug end. Totally rusted and rotted. Replaced it along with the pigtail plug and it works great.
