460 engine mount questions

I'm removing the 400 v8 that the PO stuck in my 70, and replacing it with a 460 out of a 77 van. I have a front sump oil pan from a 73-79 2wd F-350, and the stock 2wd 460 engine mounts and towers. I have the 400 and C6 out, and just removed the old towers today.

The left side tower is no problem, as there is only one place to bolt it in, however the passenger side (right) has two different locations to mount the tower, one about 2 inches in front of the other one. The old tower was bolted to the rear set of bolt holes.

The big question: Which set of holes do I bolt the passenger side engine mount tower to? No guesses, please, (I don't want to pull the engine back out when I discover someone was wrong.) I'm looking for someone who has done this swap, or maybe someone with a 73-79 with a stock 460 can go look at their truck.

Thanks in advance

460 engine mount questions

I just completed this type of swap this weekend. I pulled the mounts from a 74 and put them into a 67 sitting beside it. I used the rear holes because that is what the 74 used. It matched up fine.
