Noob Post

Been lurking for a while; since I heard ol' HungryMonkey was over here working on his '66. Decided to finally register so I could use the Search Function. Used "StangDreamin' " (my StangNet SN) because somebody had already used 'my' DesertDawg SN.

20-odd years ago, I had a'72 F100 that had not moved (only started once) for over two years before I bought it. In less than 11 months, the 360/C6 combo blew every seal and dumped enough fluids on the ground to be it's own EPA condemned hazardous waste site! Purple spots on the crank, ridges in the cylinder walls and my lack of knowledge plus overzealousness resulted in a Mirror105 block being bored/stroked to a 406. Ran good, hauled mucho stuff and mucho a** while it lasted, cracked a cylinder wall after three years. RIP

After flirtations with GM (two Chevy pckups, one of which performed yeoman service for 15 years) I'm back to my Blue Oval roots, with an '02 F150 Supercab Lariat 4x4 with a 5.4. Nice truck, but it's certainly not as easy to "crawl under the hood" as the old F100 was. Did my first oil change on it last week; spent twenty minutes getting the oil filter replaced - Sure do miss that '72 engine compartment and the easy to reach FE!

That's it. Now back to the interesting stuff!

Welcome to FordTrucks.com! We are the Internet's Premiere Resource for all things Ford Truck and SUV related!

We are happy to have you! There is a ton of great info on this site. But, before you go snooping around there are a few things you need to do first.

1) Want to meet or talk to other members in your area? There are Provincial, State and International Chapters located near the bottom of the main forum page.

2) Before you post a thread asking a question be especially aware of where (what forum) to place it in. FTE is HUGE! Make sure you read the Read First: at the top of the forum before you go posting.

3) And finally you should review the Guidelines. They will kind of give you an idea of what is and isn't allowed on this site ("The Rules").

And that is it. I hope you enjoy the FTE "Experience"! This is a great place and we have lots of fun while exchanging valuable info. If you have any questions or problems do NOT hesitate to contact me. Just click my username then send me an email.

-Matt
