Frustration is setting in.

I did check and reset the timing to 12 degrees. Jumped in it first thing in the morning and it seemed to be running very good. I was heading out of town and I couldnt believe how well it seemed to be running after the problems I've been having and I felt that I had it licked. As I motored up a very steep hill with no problems, I happened to look in my rt side mirror. Imagine my suprise when all I could see behind me was a very dense fog. Pulled over and found that I'd blown a head gasket. So now I'll be pulling the heads and doing what comes next.
What would be the best brand of gaskets to use? And does anyone have any 'do it the easy way' tips?
Thanks again for everyone's help with my earlier problem.

Frustration is setting in.

I know you can change a head without removing the intake which would shave off a lot of time. I prefer Fel-Pro for all my gaskets. Engines typically don't run very well with a blown gasket, especially when you are blowing steam like that. Imagine how well it will run when you get that fixed!

Frustration is setting in.

Hopefully it will run very good. I've never changed head gaskets before so I'll do some reading up on the subject and hopefully get to it next week.
