Talking steering column

i have a 56 f100 with a 95 camaro steering column and toyota gear box. the truck came that way. i hate this column cause im fat and its too close to my miller lite. would a 30" ididit work for my application? or what other options. and dont tell me to lose weight LOL

Do you have column shift or floor shift. If column, then the shift collar somewhat determines how close you can get to the dash. You might be able to slide the existing column forward/down some but it depends on how your Toy box is connected. Can you take a pic of the connection(s) between the column and box?

The 30" Ididit is the more common length used on the 53-56. You can adjust the distance from your "Miller lite" to the column by using various column drops. I'd go with a 2.5" drop for max clearance. I'd also consider switching to Arrowhead or Sparkletts if your problem persists.

I'm using the 30" Ididit (I bought a 32", but it was too long so I shortened it 2") with 15" Grant wheel and Toy box. To me the right distance is when in my driving position I can comfortably rest my wrist on the top of the steering wheel with my arms extended but relaxed.
