I replaced the gasket where the carb meets the intake to stop a small leak. But since i did this whenever i give it a lot of gas it will chug a little then go. Like if im at a light, then i floor it, it will make wierd clinging noises and it'll shut off if i hold it for like 2 seconds. Any idea on how to fix this? it has pertronix ignition and thats all set up in the correct order. thanks
yea, it was, i didnt disconnect any of the linkage except the acclererating thing that just pops in. other than that i just lifted the thing about 4 inches up and put the gasket in. .....i only unscrewed those 4 bolts.
Did you accidently disconnect the accelerate pump linkage? You can check easily. Remove air cleaner with engine not running. Operate throttle linkage by hand while looking inside carb venturi. You should see 2 separate squirts of gas, one from each nozzle in the venturi. If not, you must have disconnected the accelerater pump at the front of the carb
