I did some significant work today (HPX, KWIK filter and cleaned up the cold intake for the turbo. When I went to reinstall the pipe I noticed this round red plug with 2 wires inside. The harness is long enough to reach the top of the battery.
I can seem to find a home for it.
Man, you've pulled everything off the fender skirt. That would be your hot side turbo intercooler pipe there. I will await someone's sage advice on that as it is dark outside and I don't know. If you don't find out, I will try to remember to look at mine tommorow.
Little 2 prong plug like that looks like it was meant for a sensor that's not there... My wife's Mystique has a couple "spare" plugs, mostly located next to fluid reservoirs, for low level sensors that the base model doesn't get. If it reaches all the way to the battery like you said, no telling really. May be an Excursion-only thing as well...
Well, I just looked at my truck, I can't see anything like that on mine from what I can see. It may be tucked away underneath in an area that I cannot see as I don't have my battery box removed. So I guess I'm not much help.
It is for the abs brakes.
I only have them in the back.
When I had my front end re-done I bought capilers with abs, So I told the guy to zip tie them up and away.
I found a socket where they plug into as well.
I believe mine does, I have those plugs at the rear of the front wheel well all plugged in to the wires going to the calipers I think, however, they didn't show me sh.. last winter when I tried to activate them in the snow. Yes, we do get some pretty good snow occasionally here.
i was gonna take a look on the 99 service cd I had to see if I could answer your question. has all plug and component locations (check ebay for one, they are handy), but your file expired on your picture service. appearently too many ppl viewed it. may want to try again.

Its definately going to the caliper. definately abs.
I almost rear ended a car on Thursday and stopped on a dime. (no abs up front)
I'll just leave it as it until I have my brakes checked.
Too many PMS issues to be bothered with this.
Tranny secondary filter installed today.
Oil bypass and A/C mod next.
