Ford camper shell

Did the fiberglass camper shell that was made for the 73 and later Ford pickups fit well on the 72 pickups?? I had a 77 model Ford That had a fiberglass camper shell "which I thought was made by Ford", now I'm not sure. I have seen them on a lot of the mid 70's trucks. Anyway, I'm looking for one if they if it will fit my 72 highboy. Can anyone tell me if it will go on my truck?
Thanks, Joel

I've put aftermarket fiberglass toppers made as late as 90 on Ford pickups as early as 68. If they're made for a Ford or Dodge box they'll fit allright, unless they are a custom made job. Measure width and length and height angles carefully and this will tell you what you need to know.

My Mom and Dad bought a Ford topper for their '71 F100 in 1973. The shell hit the back of the cab and required removal of the cargo light. The shell that will fit is one that has a straight up and down front end. They are really hard to find. I am still looking.
