Recently I noticed my check engine light would come on and then go right back off. This happens after engine warmup. I decided to check the codes and came up with two. 334 Egr closed voltage higher than expected and 337 EVP or DPFE circuit above maximum voltage. I recently replaced my EGR valve but it did not come with the sensor that mounts to the top. Could it be that the sensor is bad or is there something else causing the light to flicker? Any help would be appreciated as always! This is on a 1992 Ford F150 3.0.

I had an EVP error code for over a year, 1990 F-150 4.9, and the check engine light would come on about a minute after I started the truck. Although the truck ran fine, I had to smog it in April and failed a smog test due to the EVP. I replaced the EVP, it cleared the code, and passed smog the next day. Get yourself an EVP, about $25 to $40 depending on where you go, and before you replace it, disconnect your ground from the battery. Re-run your codes after a day of driving and you should be good!
Replace EVP and canistor solenoid valve but check engine light still comes on after approximately 20 min. driving and stays on for about 15 seconds and then goes off. What the heck?
I am still getting a 334 and 337 code after replaceing the egr valve and evp? What else can I try? Yes, I did clear the codes afterwards. The check engine light comes on after engine warmup and stays on for about 15saconds before going off.
use only a motorcraft EVP. I've observed other aftermarket EVP's give wrong resistances, and thus wrong information to the computer, often resulting in a light. Check the resistances to spec of your new EVP and make sure they line up. If not, go get a motorcraft.
Sounds like you got a faulty EVP from the shop. It isn't the first time and it probably won't be the last. Good thing it is an easy fix. Take yours back for another unit. I hope it fixes your problem.
