75 SuperCab tow capacity?
What is the factory towing capacity of a 75 F 150 Super Cab? I can find the GVWR but not the towing capacity. This is not a 5th wheel trailer so CVWR is not exactly what I need. Anyone have an owners manual for a 75 SC? Thanks.
I have done a few upgrades to the truck and towed about 5000 lbs with it and it was great. Added heddman ceramic headers( a 429), 2 1/12 dual flowmasters with h pipe, tranny cooler with fan, tranny deep sump pan, super cooler radiator, new springs in rear, upgraded to the Lincoln calipers up front and a Prodigy brake controller.
I want to tow between 6 and 7000 lbs. Mostly on flat open highways. I have a 3.55 gear to replace the 3.00 but the 3.00 towed the 5000lbs like it was nothing and got decent mileage so I may leave it for now.
Just was wondering what the factory tow rating was. My tag more than covers the weight, just wondering about factory specs.

What class is your trailer ?
Class I = Max 2000 lbs
With Weight distrubtion hitch:
Class 2 = 2000-3500 lbs
Class 3 = 3500- 5000 lbs
Class 4 = 5000- 6000 lbs
Fifth wheel - Up to 5000 lbs
Pulling is one thing...Stopping is more important.
It may be a moog point anyway,, Took the pan off to change the rear main seal and got all excited about how clean the inside was. You could eat off of it if you liked oil flavor. Took the rear main cap off and the bearing was shot!! Took the next inline off and it is perfect?? Caps have L .010 so I assume they are ten thousandths over. Got a big trip planned in 3 weeks or did anyway.... Half tempted to throw another main bearing in their and go.
It made NO noise and had great oil pressure??
