Hmmm... I understand the concept and if it works as advertised, it would be a real leap forward in engine design.

My only real questions at this point are: How are the pistons (paddles?) connected to the crankshaft and how is the combustion cylinder sealed?

I'm not an engineer so, any dumbed-down explanations would be appreciated.

This thing is designed to separate ignorant potential investors from their money. The concept is similar to the Wankel, and look how far that got in fifty years.

I would think it would be pretty easy for a physicist to prove that there's nowhere near enough energy in a gallon of gas to generate 2000 hp @ 150 mpg. At least if you're going to bilk people, make it believable. I'd like to see one run on gasoline, not compressed air. A pinwheel will run on compressed air!

Yeah, that video is kinda wacky, I don't know what all the feedback is about. That's a terrible video, wonder why they posted that.....

No need for a physicist. A typical internal-combustion powered vehicle is around 20% efficient (i.e., 20% of the available energy in a gallon of fuel is converted to forward motion, the rest is lost in heat and heat from friction). So, to take an engine like that of a semi-tractor, which might get 6-7mpg and claim that you can bump that to 150mpg (a ~2400% increase), you're on crack.

Not to mention, with that little mass, can you say, "no engine braking?" Sure, you might be able to do some exhaust braking, but with the power to weight ratios they're claiming, the reverse load on the engine would be massive if you were trying to slow down a fully-loaded tractor-trailer--and that engine would go POOF!

I do see some potential for the engine, just not what they are claiming. Perhaps the size they claim could run a semi-tractor would be appropriate for a small car.
