Electric Fans....

This is the idea... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...65&postcount=6
Many moons ago, I hooked up an electrical fan in a Camero to whatever hot-in-run lead. This was done so that the fan wouldn't be left on & drain the battery after the engine was shut off. There was also a switch installed.
With the engine running and the fan switched on, when the ignition key was shut off, the engine would keep running until the fan slowed down & wasn't producing enough electricity to power the ignition.
There must be a reasonably simple way to wire this up to make a secondary alternator. Sort of like having a back-up system available at the flick of a switch? Whether or not it would be practical would be one persons opinion over anothers. Anybody want to draw something up?
AL.

I can't get much info in your link, but I think more testing is needed. I find it hard to believe there is enough power from the air flow through the radiator and air condition condensor to power the car, especially a modern car with an electric fuel pump.

Pull the wires loose, get a dummy load and some ammeters and voltmeters and do some testing while going down the road.
