Hello everyone! I'm looking for the instructions and photos if you have them of how to take off the front door panel on my '04 Screw. There seems to be something down inside that is leaving a hard goo on the window. Has anyone else had this problem??? I can't roll the window down and feel anything on the rubber, so it must be a slide or guide inside. Whoa! too much rhyming! Any help is appreciated, I imagine some of you stereo fanatics know how.
Thanks.
I have an 06 screw and to remove my panels there were 2 scews on the verry bottom, the switch panel had to be popped off and there was one or two screws behind that and the speaker grille had to be taken off and the speaker removed. Then the panel slid straight up a few inches and then out. Hope this helps. Its been awhile since I had mine off to put on my LT handles, and like I said mines a 06. Not sure if its the same as an 04.
I was in my truck yesterday, and relized I forgot to mention you have to pop off the little access door behind the door handle and there are some bolts behind there also. I think thats it.
I had the same black streak that kept appearing on my window. My problem was a white sleeved cable inside the door; I can't remember if it was for the locks or window. That cable had been attached with a black tape and had come loose, rubbing the adhesive against the window everytime it was rolled up\down. I cable tied it up and the goo is gone. Once you get the door panel off, you'll see exactly what is causing the issue.
I used a plastic Epoxy mixing stick...worked great...but either way...itcomes off easy regardless of what you use. The grill will come out with no probs or worries. Just dont go using a 5lb maul as your removal tool.
