will these rods swap out
Will this work? I swapped cabs (old rusty crew cab for a fresh standard cab) and now my old granny 4sp shifting rod hits the new dash (odd since it was the same year range of cabs 73-79) So I grabbed a different shifting rod that looked like it would work and pulled the one out of the truck. OOPS. the one from the truck looks a little different from the one I grabbed to go back in. The thing is, they look close to the same thing. I will try to post some pictures of the 2 shifting rods side by side. The original one, that hits the dash, has a 2 piece end with a roll pin holding them together. The one I want to try is a one piece. They have the same angle and depth respective of the pin grooves on the ball and socket joint so... In the picture, if I get it posted AOK, the original one is on the left and the one I want to use is on the right. With the on on the right go back in or do I break out the torches and bend the original off the dash a little?
