351w Conversion

Does anyone know wether or not a 351w MPI out of a 89' F150 will fit in a 72 Bronco? I know the MPI 302 will but i think the 351 MPI is taller and i dont know if it will fit.

Hello 72, This question has popped up several time before and someone mention at least 5-6" above the hood without a body lift. One member started a project like this but never reposted the pictures of the finished project. I'm curious also because I too have a 5.8 truck efi that I'd like to swap in some day. I've even considered an aftermarket car style intake like Edelbrock. They replied stating that their intake measures 11.5" which is still pretty tall. Someone also mention using one from a lightning but I don't know the specs on that.
I hope someone has pictures of completed swaps using the truck intake because I would like to retain good torque from the longer runners. Good luck.

The guys I know that have done this didn't use the truck intake. Either aftermarket or a Lightening lower intake with a gt40 upper.

Hey Ken, Do you know off hand if the aftermarket intake or GT40 still stuck up from the hood? If so, how much?. Thanks

Most of them had to go with a 1 inch body lift or a scoop or glass hood. One guy claims it fit but 3 others needed to work the hood. I think some of them were hitting the support built into the hood.PM me if need need more info I can send you to a great site for EFI in early Broncos.
